はじめて「ものをつくる」楽しさを知ったのは、
彫刻家の父が開いていた工作教室だった。

子どもでも作れるようにと、構造はとてもシンプル。
長方形の木のボディに、自由に曲げたステンレスの手足を組み合わせるだけの作りだったが、
両手をあげて喜ぶ姿や、少し俯いて考え込む姿など、
発想次第でいくつもの表情が生まれた。

好きなように手足を曲げて、思い思いのポーズをつくる—
同じ材料を使っていても、考え方ひとつで無限の作品が生まれる。

その「発想のままに形にする」という行為そのものが、
すでに彫刻だったのだと思う。

この感覚を、作品として残したいと思った。

彫刻の楽しさそのものを、
ひとつのインテリアとして、暮らしの中に置く。

Clockboyは、そんな記憶から生まれた。

-商品説明

ストレッチを楽しむ「Clockboy（クロックボーイ）」。
ヨーロッパのウッドトイを思わせる明るいカラーリングのボディに、ヘアライン加工が施されたすっきりとしたステンレスの手足のコントラストが印象的。
曲線的なフォルムは、今にも動き出しそうな躍動感があり、どこかユーモラスなデザインです。
鮮やかな色やそのポーズとは対照的に、構造は極めてミニマル。無駄な装飾やディテールを省いたシンプルなつくりだからこそ、空間に余白を残しながら、自然なアクセントとして成立します。

ポップモダンやミッドセンチュリーモダンのインテリアはもちろん、ナチュラルな空間にも程よい遊び心を違和感なく添える存在です。
また、壁面アートと並べて飾れば、空間にリズムが生まれ、より印象的な佇まいに。

-形になるまで

ヘアライン加工を施したステンレス板から切り出した手足は、シンプルなラインの中で躍動感を感じさせるよう、手作業で丁寧に曲げていきます。
ボディには、欧米の家具にも多く用いられる針葉樹材を使用。研磨による下処理を施したのち、木目の表情を活かしながらカラーをのせて仕上げています。
すべてのパーツは、形としてはあくまでシンプル。だからこそ、組み立て時の角度や位置によって印象が大きく変わります。全体のバランスを見ながら丁寧に組み上げることで、ユーモラスで愛着のわく作品が完成します。

The Story

The first time I discovered the joy of making things was at a craft workshop my father, a sculptor, used to run.
So that even children could make one, the structure was very simple — just a rectangular wooden body with freely bent stainless steel arms and legs attached to it. And yet, depending on how you thought about it, countless expressions could emerge: a figure throwing up its arms in joy, or one bowing its head in quiet thought.

Bend the arms and legs however you like, and shape whatever pose comes to mind — even with the same materials, a single shift in thinking can give rise to endless possibilities.
I think that act itself — giving form to whatever comes to mind — was already sculpture.

I wanted to preserve that feeling as a piece of work.
To bring the pure joy of sculpture into everyday life, as a piece for the home.

Clockboy was born from that memory.

Product Description

"Clockboy," caught mid-stretch.

Its body, painted in bright colors reminiscent of European wooden toys, creates a striking contrast with its clean, hairline-finished stainless steel arms and legs. Its curved form carries a sense of motion, as if it might spring into action at any moment — a design with a touch of humor.

In contrast to its bright colors and playful pose, the structure itself is extremely minimal. It's precisely this simplicity — free of unnecessary ornament or detail — that lets it leave room to breathe in a space, working as a natural accent rather than a dominant one.

It suits pop modern or mid-century modern interiors, and fits just as naturally into a more natural, understated space, adding just the right touch of playfulness.
Displayed alongside wall art, it also brings a sense of rhythm to the space, for an even more striking presence.

※ The included stand is detachable, so this piece can be used as either a wall clock or a table clock.

The Making Process

The arms and legs are cut from hairline-finished stainless steel sheets, then carefully bent by hand so that even their simple lines carry a sense of movement.
The body is made from SPF softwood, a material widely used in Western furniture. After being sanded and prepared, it's finished with color that lets the natural wood grain show through.
Each part is simple in form on its own. That's exactly why the angle and position of each piece, at the moment of assembly, can completely change the impression it gives. By carefully assembling each piece while watching the overall balance, we complete a work that feels humorous and easy to love.
