「見たことのないランプをつくりたい」
そんな思いから、このデザインははじまった。

あえて題材としたのは、最も“ランプらしい”とされるシェードランプ。
無数に存在する定番の中に、まだ新しいかたちがあり得るのかを考えた。

シェードがもたらす柔らかな陰影や、装飾の施されたネックといった要素をすべて取り払い、
本質を見つめ直す過程で導き出したのが、
「輪郭だけを残す」というアプローチである。

機能や装飾を極限まで削ぎ落とし、
二次元的に線だけで構成されたかたちは、
記号のようでありながら、誰もが思い描く“ランプのかたち”そのもの。

こうして、
シェードのないシェードランプが誕生した。

-商品説明

鏡面仕上げのステンレスで縁取られたシルエットだけで構成された、モダンな佇まいのテーブルランプ。
二次元でデザインされたそのかたちは、自らの灯りや周囲の景色を柔らかく反射しながら空間に浮かび上がり、再び三次元の立体として独特の存在感を放ちます。
自己を主張するようでいて、不思議と空間に落ち着きをもたらす。そんな、照明としての役割と彫刻的な魅力が、心地よく共存しています。
灯りを灯していないときにも、ラインアートのような佇まいを楽しむことができ、視覚的なアクセントとしても活躍します。

落ち着きのあるリビングや寝室にはもちろん、少し物足りなさを感じる空間に置くだけで、さりげない遊び心を添えてくれます。

-形になるまで

十数本のステンレス棒のパーツを、絵を描くように一本ずつ手作業で曲げていき、すべてのパーツを溶接で接合します。その際、「ビート」と呼ばれる溶接時に生まれる溶けた金属の盛り上がりをあえて残すことで、手描きのようなコミカルな味わいのラインを表現しています。
デザインが完成したら、前面を荒削りしてフラットに。そこから徐々に番手を上げながら研磨を重ね、最後に布バフで磨き上げることで、非常に滑らかで映り込みのあるミラーフィニッシュに仕上げています。
この仕上げによってランプのシルエットがくっきりと際立ち、「ランプの輪郭に着目した作品」というコンセプトをより明確に伝えています。

The Story

"I want to make a lamp no one has ever seen." That was where this design began.

I deliberately chose the shade lamp as my subject — the form most people would call the most "lamp-like" of all. Among the countless versions of this familiar shape, I wondered if something new could still exist.

I stripped away everything — the soft shadow cast by the shade, the decorative neck — and in the process of asking what a lamp is, at its core, I arrived at one approach: leave only the outline.

Stripped of function and ornament down to its limit, built entirely from two-dimensional lines, the result feels almost like a symbol — yet it is exactly the shape of a lamp that everyone already carries in their mind.

And so, a shade lamp with no shade was born.

A table lamp with a modern presence, made up of nothing but its own silhouette, traced in mirror-polished stainless steel.
Though designed in two dimensions, its form softly reflects its own light and the scenery around it, rising into the space as a three-dimensional object once again, with a presence all its own.
It seems to assert itself, yet strangely brings a sense of calm to the room. In this piece, the function of a light and the appeal of a sculpture coexist comfortably.
Even when unlit, it holds its own as a piece of line art, working as a visual accent in the room.
It suits a calm living room or bedroom, but placed in a space that feels like it's missing something, it quietly adds a touch of playfulness.

The Making Process

More than a dozen stainless steel rods are bent by hand, one at a time, as though drawing a picture, then joined together entirely through welding. During this process, we intentionally leave the "bead" — the raised ridge of melted metal that forms when welding — visible, giving the lines a playful, hand-drawn quality.
Once the design is complete, the surface is first roughly ground flat. From there, we polish it in stages, gradually moving to finer grits, and finish with a cloth buff to achieve an extremely smooth, mirror finish that reflects its surroundings.
This finish makes the lamp's silhouette stand out sharply, expressing more clearly the concept at the heart of this piece: a lamp defined entirely by its outline.
